The school principals have been advised not to consider 80% attendance for the students who are going to sit for the 2022 Advanced Level (A/L) examination in December and for the students who enrolled in the A/L) classes in July 2020, the Education Ministey said.

The ministry had taken the decision due to the COVID pandemic, transportation difficulties, and fuel crisis in the country. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)

Or is it has the tuition masters( we still remember they made considerable amount of contributions for election) made the representation?

Education now not important Friday, 12 August 2022 06:50 PM

Quite a portion will go become three wheel driver. All these rules for education, there is not much prospect for staying in this country, and education will never lift this country. Rather it is uneducated and the unskilled working in factory, and export agriculture who will save us. There maybe 10% of students who enjoy going to school let those students go to school without the rest having parents forced to send the children to school. Future is not with education. That is 70s mentality.

Tution works better Friday, 12 August 2022 06:55 PM

80%, or 90%, or 40% attendance at school won't help most students. Tuition is what gets results. If student can spend time and energy during school hours in tuition style classes they would be better off. Government should consider introduction school which does all tuition style instead of how class taught now
