Power Minister Gamini Lokuge speaking to Daily Mirror a short while ago said that LIOC had informed the Ministry that at this moment they were unable to supply fuel stocks for the generation of electricity to the CEB.
However following an appeal made by Lokuge to avoid an imminent power outage in the country, the LIOC had informed the Minister that they will raise the matter with the LIOC head office.
Lokuge further said that a ship carrying fuel stocks had arrived at the Colombo Port and if that is unloaded on time, the country can avoid a power cut today.
"If this cannot be unloaded on time we will have to go in for a power cut today," Lokuge said. (Chaturanga Samarawickrema)

This is the end result if you elect one eyed man a king in a country of 6.9 M blinds.

You all have 6.9 m people's power hence you can cut the power or our neck. People are so frustrated today and they are prefer to die rather living with an inefficient govt.

This Minister does not know what he is talking. He is contradicting his previous statements issued recently

What is the point in having a minister with high salary. Pension and perks. Any idiot can say if I get the diesel I will supply power. Your bloody responsibility to find solutions and not to pass the buck like kids
