Examinations Department Commissioner General L.M.D. Dharmasena requested the Advanced Level (A/L) students not to have farewell parties on the final day of the A/L classes.
He requested the school principals and teachers not to keep students in schools for any reason after handing over the exam admission papers.
The request was made considering the COVID pandemic situation in the country and that gathering students could spread the virus and that students might be unable to sit for the exam if they contracted the virus.
Students should also remember not to gather with their colleagues to wish each other.
A/L examination will be held on February 7. Mr. Dharmasena said the students can meet even after the exam, but they might not get another chance to repeat the examination considering the current pandemic situation in the country. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
