The Naval and fishing communities have been advised to be vigilant on rough seas during next few days due to prevailing low-level atmospheric disturbance located to the south-east of Sri Lanka and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal, the Meteorology Department said.
It is expected to be intensified into a low- pressure disturbance during next few hours and it is likely to move west-northwestwards, they said.
Heavy showers, gusty winds (40-50) km/h gusting up to 60 km/h coupled with rough seas over the aforementioned sea areas and the rest of the sea areas around the island could also be expected.
