A group of Tamil military officers and other ranks gathered at the Mayurapathi amman Temple on the Havelock road, Colombo yesterday for a special Hindu prayer session to invoke blessings for the upcoming 73rd Army Anniversary and Army Day. Army Chief Lt. General Vikum Liyanage will be the chief guest at the anniversary celebrations. The 73rd Army Day will be observed on October 10. Pix by Pradeep Pathirana

Why such inter religious prayers never happen in Christian churches ? Because Christianity came to Sri Lanka on European gun boats to convert the Sri Lankans to their faith. As such Churches will not accept Hindu or Buddhist worships inside the Churches.

Not all officers here are Tamils and Hindus. I also used to go to all churches and temples when I was in uniform and that is the military way. So, please correct it.

Singhalese kill the innocents Tamils and then go to the Hindu temple for blessings. This is the Sinhalese way of doing things.

The religious persons must realise by blessing these persons paid by printed money, they are encouraging of inflation to become more monstrous. For donation, they allow other worshipers lives to become a lot worse by allowing the parasites/military printed money paid types to show off themselves this way.
