Labour and Foreign Employment Minister Manusha Nanayakkara today said that Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera agreed not to keep tourists, migrant workers, and dual citizens in fuel queues.

He said Minister Wijesekera agreed to a proposal made by him to issue fuel passes for tourists, migrant workers, and dual citizens who are willing to pay in US dollars at the airport.

If it is so, no more queues for them. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)

All who have dollars in small amounts should be allowed to pay fuel in dollars as petrol sheds, like companies are doing for bowsers. For this money could be bought additional fuel on the world market.

Considering the current situation in the country, it would be good if you think about this further. What I personally know is that no petrol shed will provide fuel to any foreigner coming to our country today without queuing. It is better if it is implemented in a national plan rather than just talking about it.
