Harin requests Indians to promote Sri Lanka a safe country

Tourism and Lands Minister Harin Fernando yesterday requested the Indians living in Sri Lanka to spread the message across that Sri Lanka is a very safe country.

Addressing the media, he said that there is so much negatives claiming that Sri Lanka has become an unsafe country.

"We are not starving on the road, and there are no people dying on the streets."

Our main focus is India, because India is our neighbour. We used to share a lot of cultural similarities and heritage. Currently, from Sri Lanka there are over hundred weekly flights to India. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)

Yes, first of all open the Jaffna airport for international flights. One coming from London to the North and East and North central, has to spend about 2 days in Colombo and then to make sure to catch the return flight has to spend three days back in Colombo. Flights take another two days. Thus out of two weeks of annual leave from abroad 7 days lost on travelling. Forget about racism, jealousy just open up the airport. Flights can be London - Jaffna - Thiruchinapalli for refuel and return to London.

This idiotic Minister should be kicked out. India is infinitely a more dangerous country than even the crime ridden South America. No woman in India can walk the streets or travel in public transport alone even in daytime without being sexually molested by Indian men, if any woman dares to visit the police stations to make complaints they are again sexually assaulted this time by the policemen. So much so that some Indian cities have opened up police stations staffed only by the policewomen. After Women, the danger falls on children who are kidnapped in thousands every year to have their organs removed by the Indian doctors to be sold to hospitals in the Middle East…….the list goes on. India looks gentle looking from other countries but in reality it is more than a dangerous country , actually it is a country of Horror.

During the COVID, no country openly suffered more than India. The whole world saw in TV news channels, Indians struggling to breath and falling and dying like flies in the streets in Mumbai and Delhi. Car parks were converted to makeshift crematoriums. Even arch rival Pakistan sent oxygen tanks to India. Our Sri Lankan papers never insulted India and the whole country felt very sorry for them. But now when we are having food and other essential items shortages in Sri Lanka , Indians are laughing at Sri Lanka !!!!!!’

India government is retaliating for us being in with the China. They won't back down as their pride as been hurt. And talking of cultural similarity and heritage is boring. More reason to keep away if uncertain. However, the Indian citizen while initially believing the government might realise they can get good value here if idea from MP Diana Gamage happen. While controversial with the dead-enders here, it's that kind of thing that will make Indian forget their government advice and come here utterly pulled in for the pleasure/entertainments.
