Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) presidential candidate Gotabaya Rajapaksa said he would implement all the policies laid down in his manifesto.
Addressing his election rally in Weerawila, Hambantota, he said he would ensure a secure nation, and be committed to upholding the rule of law. Asserting that he would live up to democratic ideals, he said he would prioritize the development of education.
He noted that his education policy would be student-centric but not exam-centric.
“We will ensure that all the students who qualify for university entrance will receive higher education. Besides, we will create opportunities for technical and technology-based education,” he said.
In his rally, he outlined the policies earmarked for the development of the agriculture economy and making Sri Lanka self-sufficient. (Kelum Bandara)
