A fuel price revision for the first quarter of this month to be made today, the power and energy ministry had earlier announced.
According to amendments made to the fuel pricing formula, the fuel price revision is expected to take place on the 1st and the 15th of every month as per the fluctuation of oil prices in the global arena.
According to the formula, previsous fuel price revision took place on July 17 and it remained unchanged until today. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)

The 1st of October has already passed. If the revision is due on it should be now inforce . For example if you have to pay tax on 1st October now it is activated. Why this theory does not apply to price reductions?

The price of oil worldwide is seeing a significant reduction. Hope that some of these reductions will get passed down to the consumers.

Some filling stations are short filling as found in recent raid of two CPC owned stations. CPC should put in their own inspectors to ensure proper amount of fuel is supplied at both their own, and privately owned by CPC branded outlets. Otherwise 1-2% price down, and then 3-4% less fuel provided after revision at some stations.

Fuel formula is inapplicable for increased fuel price. Don't expect any reduction in fuel price
