Debate on Emergancy proclamation in Parliament tomorrow

Parliament is scheduled to meet tomorrow and the proclamation of emergancy regulations by President Ranil Wickremesinghe under the Public Security Act is to be approved in Parliament, Communications Department of Parliament said.

The emergancy regulations were proclaimed by then Acting President Ranil Wickeremesinghe on July 17, 2022 and according to the legal provisions, the emergancy proclamation should be approved by Parliament within 14 days.
