The Lanka Private Bus Owners' Association (LPBOA) said that they are going to increase the bus fare after 12.00 noon today.
LPBOA President Gemunu Wijeratne told the Daily Mirror that the price increase will affect even the minimum bus fare, which is currently stands at Rs. 27.
He said the diesel price was also increased by Rs.111 and it will directly affect the sector.
However, the bus owners have been advised to engage in public transportation until 12.00 noon to facilitate the schoolchildren who are sitting for the O/L exam. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
