It is clear that moves are underway to deprive some opposition politicians of their civic rights through the special presidential commission appointed to look into the report of the PCOI on political victimisation, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa alleged yesterday.

Mr. Premadasa who was responding to a question raised by journalists at a news conference in Colombo said intentions are clear with the appointment of a special presidential commission to look into the report of the commission which was appointed earlier to look into political victimisation during the last regime.

“We have intelligence to determine what is being planned through the report of the commission which looked into political victimisation . It has not been tabled in Parliament yet. We are able to conclude through the information we are receiving at the moment though we have not seen the impending danger yet,” Mr. Premadasa said.

“We would like to tell the government to ensure that there is a democratic political playing field,” he added.(YOHAN PERERA)

Dear Mr. Sajith, The people of this country now cares a dam of what is happening to politicians now as the politicians are only concerned in filling their pockets. They curse the politicians day and night.
