Former President Maithripala Sirisena, who commented on controversial telephone conversations leaked out to the social media, said that UNP MP Ranjan Ramanayake had done an illegal and utterly disgraceful thing by maintaining such audio clips in his possession.
In an interview with Daily Mirror, he was responding to a question about the leaking of such conversations between Mr. Ramanayake and others including the judges who handled serious cases during the time of the former rule.
Audio clips have already gone viral on the internet, and the revelation led to the interdiction of former Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Shani Abeysekara.
However, the former President did not detail out his answer.
