The Minuwangoda Police Station, which was temporarily closed for the disinfection process, was re-opened yesterday, Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said.
He said 80 police officers were brought in from other police stations to the Minuwangoda Police Station.
“In addition to the officers from police stations at the Gampaha Division, officers from Kalutara, Nikaweratiya, Pahalagama, Boralanda, Kundasale and Elpitiya Police Training Colleges were also assigned for duties,” he said.
He said that the 85 police officers who were at the Minuwangoda Police station were undergoing quarantine after being subjected to PCR tests.
The operations at the police station was temporally halted yesterday until relief officers were brought in after the owner of the police canteen was tested positive for COVID-19.
