Visiting Indian Chief of Army Staff General Manoj Mukund Naravan arrived in Trincomalee yesterday, reviving memories of his stay in Sri Lanka in 1987 as a Lieutenant in the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) and visited the location of his camp at the 4th Km post in Trincomalee.
He explained to the other military officials in the Indian delegation, his duties and functions as a member of the IPKF. He narrated his experience of an attack on the camp and how he suppressed it. Later he visited the former residence of the Government Agent where an IPKF camp had been located.
