The National Peoples’ Power (NPP) yesterday alleged that the government, which came to power capitalising the weakness of the then government and security situation which erupted in the country after the Easter Sunday attacks, was using fake attempts to fulfil its political objectives instead of bringing the culprits to book.
Issuing a statement to mark the 1000th day since the Easter Sunday attacks, the NPP said justice had not been meted out to the dead or the victims as yet.
They said people were yearning that not only those who were engaged in the carnage but the mastermind behind the incident should also be brought before the law.
They also said the stance of the National Peoples’ Power is that every person who was responsible for the attacks and those behind planning the attacks should be brought to book irrespective of their status.
“We express our regret about the government, which talks highly of security, having been unable to conduct investigations properly and bring the culprits before the law,” the NPP said.
