Public Security Minister Sarath Weerasekara said he has instructed the police to expose details of those accused of heinous crimes such as child abuses, rapes and senseless assaults on people to the public while instituting legal action against them.
Addressing the media regarding the physical assault on a person , he said the perpetrators were identified after examining the CCTV footages. He said the details of those wrongdoers would be released to the public.
“Hereafter, those involved serious criminal acts will be exposed to the public through the media while legal action is in progress against them. It will then serve as a deterrent against crimes,” he said. The Minister said people are requested to submit details about such crimes and the perpetrators.
