The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has agreed to provide a stock of 1,500 Metric Tonnes of diesel to the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) to maintain the power plants that have been shut down, CEB Additional General Manager and media spokesman Andrew Navamani said. He said, however, the diesel stocks have not been received so far and that the CEB could provide an uninterrupted power supply if the fuel stock was received soon.
Meanwhile, CPC Chairman Sumith Wijesinghe said that action has been taken to provide 1,500 metric tons of diesel per day at the request of the CEB to maintain the power plants that have been shut down.
He further said that a discussion will be held again on Tuesday and further action will be taken.
