The Public Health Inspectors (PHIs) yesterday decided to close the Beruwala Fisheries Harbour until further notice after 10 COVID-19 positive patients were found at the Fisheries Harbour.
Public Health Inspectors Union Sri Lanka (PHIUSL) Secretary M. Balasooriya told Daily Mirror that 100 random PCR tests were conducted at the Harbour recently.
He said the results indicated that 10 individuals had tested positive for COVID-19 from Aluthgama area and accordingly, a decision was taken to immediately close the harbour from today.
He said the COVID-19 positive patients had visited the Peliyagoda Fish Market.
