The CID investigating the vandalising of Buddha statues in Mawanella yesterday released a sketch of a Maldivian who was reported to have maintained a close relationship with the main suspect in the incident.
The Police seek public assistance to identify the suspect, believed to be between the age of 30 and 35.
The incident of vandalising Buddha statues was reported from Mawanella on December 24 and 25, 2018.
Police request public to inform the CID on 0112-2326936 or CID OIC on 0718 591774 if anyone is able to identify the suspect. Nineteen suspects were remanded on charges of vandalising Buddha statues were re-remanded till November 14 by the Mawanella Magistrate’s Court.
