The Unawatuna railway station was closed and the station master referred to a quarantine centre.
A senior official of the Galle District Health Service Office said the station master had been associated with an instructor of the Kandakadu rehabilitation centre who had contracted the Corona Virus and said he was a neighbour of the station master from the Attaragoda area in Unawatuna.
He said the PCR test had confirmed that the station master had not contracted the virus, but he would however, be placed under quarantine.
A senior official of the Railways’ Department said steps would be taken to attach a relief officer and open the railway station.
