Both, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa have been given the first dose of AstraZeneca vaccine to ensure immunization from Covid- 19, Cabinet Spokesman, Mass Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella yesterday said.
He added that renowned Sri Lankan cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya took the jab in order to create confidence among the public
Minister Rambukwella charged that the Opposition has been on a campaign of sabotage from the very beginning of the pandemic. “They first said the government did not have funds to import the vaccine. Thereafter they said the imported vaccines were of substandard quality. They later said the jab was being given only to politicians and their friends and relatives. All these are proved to be misleading and are mere fabrications,” he said.
