Two army officers were seen capturing the moment of a red-wattled lapwing (Kirala) mother protecting its eggs in the middle of the Panagoda Army Camp grounds where a New Year festival was being held. The mother bird is refusing to leave the nest which was covered by a fence by soldiers in order to protect it from the crowd.
