Brilliant Cuts Managing Directress Vindya Perera with award
Vindya Perera, Managing Directress at Brilliant Cuts (Pvt.) Ltd, a leader in the Lankan gem and jewellery industry, won the Young Woman Entrepreneur of the Year award at the recently held WCIC Prathibhabhisheka.
Women Entrepreneur Awards 2022 was organised by the Women’s Chamber of Industry and Commerce (WCIC). Perera received the award at the event that was held under the patronage of President Ranil Wickremesinghe and first lady Prof. Maithree Wickramasinghe, in Colombo.
A certified gemmologist at the National Gem and Jewellery Authority Sri Lanka, Perera has emerged in recent times as a force to be reckoned with in the industry and attempts to be a role model to inspire aspiring female entrepreneurs. She has won a number of local and international awards for her tireless and innovative work.
“This is a great honour for me. As a successful female entrepreneur, I want to inspire other women to venture into business. I want young women to rise to the top in their fields. Winning the award for Young Woman Entrepreneur of the Year is very special for me,” she said.
The continuous success of Brilliant Cuts, which creates high-quality products to showcase the wonders of Sri Lankan gems, has brought hope as well as opportunities for young and talented lapidarists, who are hungry for recognition. Brilliant Cuts operates with the guidance of the mother and daughter duo, Brilliant Cuts Directress Malani Polgampola and Perera.
The WCIC Prathibhabhisheka Awards honour women entrepreneurs for their tenacity to scale and grow and for their contribution and impact on the economy and the WCIC is the premier organisation supporting entrepreneurs and professional businesswomen in the country.
