A trapped leopard was rescued near the Samanala Forest Reserve in a private land owned by the Gartmore Estate in Maskeliya. The animal was tranquilized nearly nine hours later by a veterinarian of the Wildlife Department this afternoon, and taken to the Minipe Veterinary Hospital for further treatment. Your comment about a politician is nothing but blatant racism. DM even blocks replies to yours, but does not at least delete yours thus only promoting your vulgarity. Why I am having to reach you this way. Truth hurts, but it is a bitter yet better medicine that not only cures, it also heals..

This shows how humane we Sri Lankans are. Timely saving, if not the leopard could have died several hours later if the animal itself tried escape methods. "Budu Saranai" to the Vet and all those who helped.
