The railway needs to converted to an authority and made to work efficiently. Right now the railway people do work but efficiency is low. There is no consideration of cost or time scales.

Railway employees are not dedicated to their duties, losses due to overstaff, political appointments, over the years it was a loss making venture all loss making institutions should be privatised.

These people are responsible for suffering of people. Inefficiency, wastage, corruption at railways make huge losses which are paid by people as taxes. No more , enough is enough

Sri Lanka railways are so backward that they operate 60 year old diesel locomotives. I used to travel on those when I was a child growing up in SL. I see these units still running. The railways need to be privatized to provide tge country with a better service and remove dependency on government funding.
