MRIA recognised as international airport

The Civil Aviation Authority Chairman Rohan Daluwatte handed over a Certificate of Recognition, to the Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport acknowledging it as an international airport, at the Civil Aviation Ministry. Daluwatte handed over the certificate to Airport Chairman Prasanna Wickremsuriya. Minister Priyankara Jayaratne and Deputy Minister Geethanjana Gunwardena were present at the event. The question is how the rest of the world look at it. Success or failrue will depend on it because we don't have sufficient market for internal flights as in the USA or the UK.
