Galle Fort is such a beautiful place and a great tourist attraction. Wish the Govt. and all concerned upgrade and maintain this unique location. Unregulated construction and very poor maintenance has ruined this gem of a tourist place

The majoriy of these tourists are die-hard cricket fans from Australia who have come with tour groups to Galle to watch the test series between Sri Lanka and Australia. Some of them have made the trip especially to see Aussi captain Steve Smith score his record ten thousand run which he achieved in the first test. Australian tourists prefer to visit Bali Phuket Vietnam Japan and Fiji because of it's close proximity to Australia.
