The Thanthirimale Poson Aloka Puja, organized for the 22nd time by Wijaya Newspaper Company, was held at the ancient Thanthirimale Rajamaha Viharaya. The temple grounds were beautifully illuminated with electric light bulbs for the occasion. MP Dr. Sena Nanayakkara, Anuradhapura District Secretary K.P.R. Wimaladharmasuriya, and Wijaya Newspaper Company's Chief Operating Officer Janaka Ratnakumara graced the first day of the festival. The ceremonial lighting of the lamps was also carried out. The Chief Incumbent of the Thanthirimale Rajamaha Viharaya and Deputy Chief Sanganayaka of the North and East Provinces, His Excellency Thanthirimale Chandaratha Thera, was present as well.
