Sri Lanka will soon launch a joint venture with Japan to lure in investors and tourists and a special promotional programme to expedite efforts is already underway, the Ministry of Tourism said.
In an effort to increase Japan’s interest in Sri Lanka, the Ministry of Tourism recently proposed to Japan’s new Ambassador to Sri Lanka the possibility of exploring avenues to further deepen economic ties between the two counties, for which the envoy affirmed commitment.
According to Minister of Tourism Prasanna Ranatunga, a joint venture would be favourable for Sri Lanka as the government is already on the lookout to attract Japanese tourists and investors
