The General Administration Customs of China (GACC) has approved the health certificate for importing fisheries products from Sri Lanka, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Beijing shared today.
Fisheries exporters of Sri Lanka will be required to present the renewed health certificates along with the products to the Chinese customs from 1 July 2021.
According to the Sri Lankan Embassy, Beijing, the certificates will pave the pave the way for Sri Lanka’s fisheries sector to explore the Chinese market.
“It will enable the approved fisheries and aquatic products to enter this lucrative market, and even encourage Sri Lankan businesses to expand their production,” the embassy said in a statement to the media a short while ago.

What is all this fuss about? It is just that the format of the Health Certificate has been changed. It is only a documentation issue. Nothing to dance about!
