The Western imperialists have discarded the values they possessed by killing former Libyan Leader Muammar  Gaddafi, Jathika Nidahas Peramuna (JNP) Leader Wimal Weerawansa said today.

He vehemently condemned the killing of Colonel Gaddafi and said their decency was evident by the way they dealt with Sri Wickrama Rajasainghe the last king of Sri Lanka.

Mr. Weerawansa said the king was deported from the country when he was arrested by the British just before they took control of the island but this kind of decency had vanished today in what was seen when Gaddafi was killed mercilessly by the Libyan rebels backed by these nations.

He said it was clear that these countries wanted to get a hold of Libyan oil resources.

“It was Saddham Hussein earlier, it is Muammar Gaddafi today and it will be the Iranian President tomorrow when one considers the way these nations are fulfilling their objectives,” he said.

Mr. Weerawansa said Gaddafi’s style of governance was based on the social structure of that society though many critisised it. This he said was similar to the reign of King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe who was perceived to be a cruel king. (Yohan Perera)

Why not go for another hunger strike in front of UN office? Please don't abandon this time.

Well said Wimal you are absolutely correct.

Wimal is saying is correct here. The hypocrisy of the so called champions of human rights are clearly visible now.

Well said Weerawansa, all the Arab countries have forgotten the good things done by Gaddafi. He is one who taught Arab how to sell oil and earn dollars by nationalising the oil field for which the West has taken the revenge on him.

Gadaffi saw to it that ONLY his family enriched themselves. He did do good things for the country but it was done to benefit him and his family, who enjoyed like as if there was no tomorrow. While the Libyan people lead a substandard life. Western hypocrisy is at its peak anyway, but in this instance, this dictator for 42 years deserved the "rats" death that he finally ended up with. The irony is that this supposedly KING OF KINGS used to call these freedom fighters 'RATS", but ultimately he had to creep under a Sewage pipe like a rat himself. The method to the end of Gadaffi should be a good lesson to all the "DICTATORS".

OK Wimal so what can you do to them??

He is a man with clear blood streams.

Of course, of course! What he says is, killing a captured leader is wrong even if he was cruel. Same applies to Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe and V. Piribaharan. Well said in spite of obvious omissions.

It was Saddham Hussein earlier, it is Muammar Gaddafi today and it will be the Iranian President tomorrow .... After that??
