Video: CID to investigate Hanwella unrest

The Police said the CID had taken over the investigations in to the incident of Hanwella unrest where an OIC was injured and died.

“Seven police personnel and two civilians were also injured in the incident,” Police media spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said.

 “We are checking whether this was a premeditated act of violence because several of the trees were partially cut and pushed down when the police moved in,” SSP Rohana said.

He said 1,500 personnel including those from the Special Task Force have been deployed at Thunnana in Hanwella. (Sanath Desmond)

    This is pathatic. Regardless of the claims that water is polluted or not, these folks can't just cut trees on to a busy road!! absolute no regard to the Law! disgusting!!!

    Oh! man, who has regard for the law? Rulers? For them the law is a joke. No surprise the ordinary man tries to take law into his hands.
