Dear Readers , Please think everything in Practical. I heard that the new Government is in talks with DHL , UPS and all Major Courier Companies to use MRIA as their new HUB. The new Government will grant concessions. But it will bring huge employment to the Locals

I guess it SHOULD be breaking news if the plane that landed was an AN-124 as pictured. Not a lot of airports in the world can accommodate that massive beast.
Nana Thursday, 22 January 2015 10:01 AM
Oh, What a Achievement for Mattala MRIA !!! Breaking News
Abdul Hameed Wednesday, 21 January 2015 09:13 PM
The airport should have been built in Gale because of Population Not in Mattala where there is no poeple.
Sim Wednesday, 21 January 2015 07:51 PM
We have no alternative but to carry on the burden of the Port and Airport in Hambantota. There are more pressing needs of the people.

My dear friends, enough is enough.Mattala airport is not a waste. Any airport will not have heavy traffic flow right from day one. What we need to do is to promote the positive side of the facility and mitigate its disadvantages and move forward. After all it is our asset Now we have a second airport in Sri Lanka.
suranjith lal Wednesday, 21 January 2015 05:41 PM
it is good at least some publicity
ratna Wednesday, 21 January 2015 05:34 PM
O HH , Mattala air port is in operation.for transnational flights.in general any commercial operation needs time to get off. But some people think it has to be fully operative as soon as its opened. which is not correct even to a tea boutique in the village.
sss Wednesday, 21 January 2015 05:30 PM

asoka Wednesday, 21 January 2015 05:27 PM
Be careful, please check whether ANURA KUMARA or a new minister is there. They may be checking outgoing politicians.
Ash Wednesday, 21 January 2015 05:25 PM
Definitely the civil aviation authorities must have known about it in advance via DM Android App
Lash Wednesday, 21 January 2015 05:12 PM
Lol..The only airport where people are actually amazed to hear a plane has landed.
Lankanboy Wednesday, 21 January 2015 05:10 PM
