The United States said that it was ‘concerned’ about the violence in yesterdays protest and urged for restraint from all sides.

Following is the brief statement posted on its website.

The U.S. Embassy is concerned about the violence in yesterday’s protest in Weliweriya, and urges the Government of Sri Lanka to respect the rights of people to protest peacefully, and urges restraint from all sides.

The US is clearly out of line here. MR should ask them to go to hell ! It is a gross breach of international diplomatic form, for the US embassy in Colombo to keep interfering with what happens in our country .......... be it good or bad. How would they feel if we and the rest of the world, called them "a pack of uncivilised barbarians" each time a innocent school kid is gunned down in a US school ................ which is such a regular occurrence ! What has the US Ambassador in Colombo got to say about that sort of uncivilised, inhuman behaviour ? They also enjoy killing hundreds of civilians in Afghanistan and other places - using their nefarious drone attacks ? Its time Sri Lanka told them xxxx-off !

.... and allow them to block the New York - Pennsylvania highway and major roads to Washington stopping thousands of vehicles including Ambulance , USArmy convoys etc.

Sri Lanka Parliament should set aside ONE WHOLE DAY to debate the double standaards of the United States. This could include its prrotection of countries who exercise blatent violations of human rights because off their strategic importance to the US. The US violations of civil liberties of its own people that waas revealed by Edward Snowden in his NSA listening and tracking of conversations within and outside the US soil. The interferance of America in domestic affairs of other sovereign nations such as violation ofPakistan's territorial integrity in its bin Larden Operation. The SL Parliament should bring foreign policy experts from abroad to testify before this Speacial Session to expose American blatent disregard of other nations' rights to their independence and sovereignty. Couple of days back US expressed their concerned on Deraniyagala incident. Today they had express their concern over Weliweriya incident. The whole world knows who is US today! Their gimmicks had been exposed by one of their own trustworthy men who was finally lucky enough to get political assylum in Russia. Therefore, US should first think before they correct others to put their house in order first.
