Complete the reforms at least before Hon. Namal Rajapakse is elected to presidency.

I listen to the audio clip of Mr Sajith Premadasa, I am impressed the way he answered the questions, and his approach appears to be totally different to his father's . He will be a threat to Rajapaksa's. and I believe he will be a credible leader in the years to come.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 12:12 AM

    Wow statement of the century......

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 12:12 AM

President Premadasa did most of the campaigning for JR.

There is ONLY one reform needed in the UNP. That is for Ranil to step down and let the UNP membership elect whoever they want as the leader. Ranil and his cronies are responsible for the destruction they have brought upon the UNP.

    Monday, 10 May 2010 12:34 PM

Ranil's general knowledge is excellent. But what he lacks is shrewdness, which most villagers have because they come up the hard way, resorting to violence, playing each other of their properties (as there were no demarcations etc in those days), and resorting to violence to get whatever they want - by hook or by crook. Perhaps they may have had the weakness and downplayed the military saying kilinochi, pamankada, but all in all they praised the war victory. Also, wasn't people like GLP also in the team during the Chandrika-Ranil era. And didnt BR & Mangala also meet with Prabha's crowd? ALL'S FAIR IN LOVE AND WAR.

    Monday, 10 May 2010 10:54 AM

    Hope for the best

    Monday, 10 May 2010 10:25 AM

I am not condemning Mr Ranil We must change leader ship to win the election with out winning we can not do any thing so please put as leader Mr Saijith peramadasa that is only salution because lot of people like him as a leader

    Monday, 10 May 2010 10:25 AM

Very interesting suggestion by MaPer,in a way it make sence .But the question is what will RW think and do. and how should it be done?

    Monday, 10 May 2010 10:22 AM

Everyone is clamouring for Sajith. He can only talk on Hambantota. People like Ravi, Dayasiri talk on Hedging, COL, Corruption, Foreign Loans, Foreign Policy , Inflation etc.
Isn't it time Sajith started to show his colours ? Otherwise he may turn out to be a Frog in the Well.

    Monday, 10 May 2010 10:12 AM

The Cabinet is meeting very soon to approve constitutional changes said to be urgent, and the UNP blokes are still discussing and haggling over the power and position of individuals. All of you have missed the last bus. Bye! Bye! Opposition. Thank you Ranil.

    Monday, 10 May 2010 10:12 AM

MaPer -- i appreciate ur comments....

    Monday, 10 May 2010 05:58 AM

Is this report going to suffer the same fate as earlier reforms that RW promised.By the time the report is out the UNP would have missed the bus.

    Monday, 10 May 2010 09:12 AM

    MaPer, I agree with you.

    Monday, 10 May 2010 09:09 AM

Ranil may have read all the books in the praliment yet Ranil has no General Knowledge and no sense

    Monday, 10 May 2010 08:19 AM

    Mahinda's greatest asset: Ranil Wickremasinghe

    Monday, 10 May 2010 08:13 AM

Ask RANIL to resign to lead the U.N.P. He is not capable for anything. Better RESIGN now else U.N.P will become EMPTY.

    Monday, 10 May 2010 07:55 AM

Ranil help CBK to rule 11 years. Then MR for another 11 years. If he continues NR will take over thereafter and even Wimal could become the PM. He is a king maker but never ever become a king.

    Monday, 10 May 2010 07:38 AM

Read what Sajith has commented. I am a strong UNPer and Ex Mil person, when I read about thoppigala/pamankada/kilinochichi stories, it hurted me so badly, that is where UNP went wrong. Majority of Sri Lankans felt that way, whether buddhists or christians.

    Monday, 10 May 2010 07:22 AM

Each is passing the buck to the other. Its necessary to keep Ranil as leader - his experience and knowledge (he is supposed to be the only parliament who has read most - if not all - the books in the parliament library!) no one else can match. But strong 2nd line command is necessary - therefore Sajith & Dayasiri cd be the 2nd in commands. BUT RANIL SHOULD NOT SPEAK ON ELECTION PLATFORMS. HE DOES NOT HAVE THE GIFT OF THE GAB - HE SHOULD GET SAJITH & DAYASIRI TO DO THIS. JRJ HARDLY SPOKE ON PLATFORMS BUT GOT HIS 2ND IN COMMANDS LALITH A. & GAMINI D. TO DO THIS. BUT PLS DO GET THE REFORMS PASSED AND GET DOWN TO WORK IMMEDIATELY.

    Monday, 10 May 2010 07:06 AM

This thing will drag up to the budget hearing at the parliment

    Monday, 10 May 2010 06:44 AM

RW please step down. Dont be like Sanath J. Ist time to step down and give Sajith the leadership. Get General SF to UNP as will as Join the JVP to UNFP.

    Monday, 10 May 2010 06:27 AM

A weak oppostion is a gain to the ruling party! All qualified members have crossed over, and are holding top positions, these floating members give the advantage to both parties.
