Three bodies found in Gandara

Bodies of a 29-year-old mother and her two children aged seven and nine were found hanging down from the roof of a house in Kapugama, Gandara this evening, police said.

The victims were identified as Talpavila Kankanamge Thamisha (9), Ravisha Ashmika (7) and their mother Chammi Kaluthota.

Ranjani Alahakoon, the dead woman’s mother who earns a living by working as a rope maker in a nearby factory, had found the three bodies hanging down from the roof when she returned from work. (Sanath Desmond)

    It was probably suicide. The poor mother couldn't take it anymore
    just like us. The Night Races and the money wasted on such a farce instead of tackling the high COL probably was the last straw!!!!!!!!!!!
