A fight broke out at the Kelaniya University between two student factions injuring a few students with one being admitted to hospital, Inter University Students Union (IUSF) convener Sanjeewa Bandara said today.
“A student who was bleeding was rushed to the hospital while a few received minor injuries,” Mr. Bandara said. According to him a heated argument broke out between a few students of rival groups and it led to a fight.
According to Bandara about 600 students were involved in the incident causing damage to property within the Science Faculty premises of the University of Kelaniya. A student faction told Bandara that the other faction had instigated the fight after they threatened a member of their faction. (Sumaiya Rizvi and Supun Dias)

University students are always too much. Steps should immediately be taken to stop this type of vulgar habits. How can the innocent students do their studies.

Only way to solve this unending chaos in SL unis is to introduce a fee. Start charging a nominal fee annually.
