People do have the right to protest and demonstrate but the need for them should never have arisen after police were doing their duty. If there had been something untoward, the police had done, they should bear in mind that it is essential that they have the public on their side because without their support and co-operation the duties of the police is severely weakened.

So this is the new trend in Sri Lanka. When a person is arrested friends come to the street to rescue suspects. Stop these protest campaigns now.

This is what happens when the law only applies to a selected few. People have lost the trust they have on the Police force, since it is so politicized. We are fast moving towards anarchy.

THIS IS NARCOTICS RELATED ARRESTS. IT WAS A GOOD MOVE WITH THE POLICE. AS WE WITNESS TODAY MANY DRUGGIES HAVE STARTED SELLING WHICH MEANS THERE HAVE BEEN A HUGE AMOUNT OF DRUGS ENTERING THE MARKET THAN BEFORE.

If the public directly confronts the police means that the justice is lost in the land and the people do not have a place to turn to justice. So they take it into their own hands. In the long run it is too dangerous.
