Sunil for COPE, Lasantha for PAC

JVP MP Sunil Handunnetti was appointed as the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) while State Minister Lasantha Alagiyawanna was appointed as the Chairman of the Committee on Public Accounts (PAC), following a decision taken by the government today.

It was reported that Speaker Karu Jayasuriya had also approved this decision.

The other members of COPE include MPs Anura Yapa, Dayasiri Jayasekara, Wasantha Aluvihare, Ajith P. Perera, Ranjan Ramanayake, Asok Abeysinghe, Chandrasiri Gajadeera, Nimal Ratnayake M. A. Sumanthiran and G. Srinashan.

The PAC members include MPs Bandula Gunawardane, Mahinda Samarasinghe, P. Harrison, Palitha Range Bandara, Niroshan Perera, Sujeewa Senasinghe, Eran Wickremaratne, Vijitha Herath, Vasudeva Nanayakkara, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, S. Viyalendran and S. Sritharan. (Yohan Perera)
