Police and Special Task Force (STF) personnel were deployed in Kuttiduwa Beach area in Negombo Town to maintain law and order after a clash broke out between two fishing communities in the area.
According to reports one group of fisher folk had raised objections to another group for bringing fish from the South to make dry-fish in Negombo.Police said two people had been injured in the incident. (Hubert Fernando)
