Nightclub owner killing: Six more suspects arrested

Six more suspects had been arrested today in connection with the killing of the nightclub owner in Anuradhapura, the Police said.

Police Spokesmen ASP Ruwan Gunasekara said four more suspects had surrendered to the Anuradhapura Police this evening, while two suspects were arrested by the police.

He said six suspects, who were arrested on Tuesday (27) and another two who were detained for questioning in connection with the killing and injuring several others including the manager of the nightclub, were remanded till November 9 after they were produced in the Anuradhapura Magistrate’s Court today.

The six suspects, who were arrested on Monday (26), were also remanded till November 9. ASP Gunasekara said twenty suspects had been arrested so far in connection with the murder.

“The Police are conducting investigation to arrest several suspects, who are still at large in connection with the killing of the night club owner,” he said.

The 57-year-old nightclub owner and karate champion Wasantha Soyza was stabbed to death in Anuradhapura on Saturday night. (Darshana Sanjeewa, Athula Bandara)

    good to see under yahapalana gov police acting fast towards justice, but how sure these criminals will be punished without bail?
