Former Minister Wimal Weerawansa’s wife Shashi has been taken into custody, for allegedly possessing of a fake diplomatic passport, this evening.

She had been asked to come to the CID on February 19 but had not appeared. Former Minister Weerawansa said it was due to his wife being hospitalized due to an illness.

It would be interesting to know if she has traveled with either of the passports. If so it is not merely possessing fake passports but cheating as well. What is the big deal though; after all Karuna went to UK with a DPL pass port faked by the Foreign Ministry.
