I'm tired of these comments
1. Where are we heading to
2. What is wrong with this country
3. The country has gone to the dogs.
Mate we all know this. So save time and the few bytes on DM's database and quit stressing the obvious.

Is this the nation where our Lord Buddha visited three years as per Buddhist History and preched Kanurna, Mudhita, Upeksha. Day by day I am feeling to be shamed to called as a Sri Lankan. My younger days I had a proudness to call as such. Some of the Politicians also responsible for creating such a society
malkanthi Tuesday, 28 September 2010 10:04 AM
The critiques mostly led by emotions. I have personally come accross incidents where very young girls in rural villages dare to act such a way that is unbelievable. This may be different!!! Yes my gender is as per name!
malkanthi Tuesday, 28 September 2010 09:24 AM
Abductd or eloped?? make sure that first pls!! 'cos I know in remote villages, girls elope at very young age.
Katussa Tuesday, 28 September 2010 09:25 AM
Typical of the police to think and say that all these abductions had something to do with love affairs. Don't they believe in the worst case scenario? What humbugs!
Madey Tuesday, 28 September 2010 09:27 AM
So easy for the Police to say this becasue Police could be scared of the Human Traffickers. They can sell these girls for $100,000/- each. The movie "TAKEN" could real in SL??

Smart Aleck Tuesday, 28 September 2010 09:30 AM
Even bank robbers are no doubt in love with the cash.
ND Tuesday, 28 September 2010 09:44 AM
Malkanthi your cynicism is sometimes unbelievable, especially if you really are a woman as your name indicates.
Abducted or eloped, regardless, the poor girls are in trouble either way. Hope they are 'rescued' soon.
mother lanka Tuesday, 28 September 2010 09:54 AM
How can Police suspects of a love affair, before any proofs, instead of finding the culprits & the girls. They are only 15 years and if all of them were taken at the same day in an organized manner.
Save mother Lanka.
Dheen Tuesday, 28 September 2010 09:23 AM
Killing school teachers and now abducting school girls. Where are we heading to!
Nazar Hussein Tuesday, 28 September 2010 10:12 AM
Threreare vissible sign over Sri Lanka of degradation of culture, morality in pathetic way.
Sanjaya Tuesday, 28 September 2010 10:13 AM
Death sentence should be imposed on forcible actions like abductions and rapes.
dilmi Tuesday, 28 September 2010 10:18 AM
If a prtoest against the government police act fast. But when the public need their help, they sleep forever.
Oyage sudu kella Tuesday, 28 September 2010 10:20 AM
May be happily gone with their boyfriends. "Vayase varadda" :)
Dheen Tuesday, 28 September 2010 10:21 AM
Hi Malkanthi, there is nothing called remote villages now. We are living in a global village and most of the Sri Lankans, especially the student population have better access to internet so it is not a question of eloping in that perspective, they willingly go and this is the life style today. But on the other hand one can abduct a girl if she is not willing!
