However, Ex chief justice Mr.Sarath Silva also a very suitable person for the job.

Mr Sarath De Silva, you are a gentleman. You are honest, humble, trustworthy. I am sorry you can't be a politician. Don't spoli your name by entering politics. We need your service.

    Monday, 11 January 2010 05:47 PM

Well done Ex -chief justice Mr.Sarath N.Silva.Many of the stories are based on rumours.

    Monday, 11 January 2010 04:37 PM

Mr. Silva, it is on record that you have said that East and North should be merged again but while you were Chief Justice the judgement was given to demerge these two provinces- what have you got to say about this? You are famous for many controversies and I don't have much regard for what you say. Your flare for the fair sex also well known to everybody. It is better you don't involve in advising the General.

first he aimed to be the president with the help of Mangi. now he is trying for PM. cat is out of the bag!

    Monday, 11 January 2010 04:04 PM

    Then where does Ranil go?

    Monday, 11 January 2010 03:45 PM

Support role for President is Prime Minister. Any better role to support the President......

    Monday, 11 January 2010 03:02 PM

If it is so it will be a grate thing for all of us. Actually if SF act as the president he should correct all the areas with out any delays. We all know that MR was a grate leader to guide the war but on the other hand we feel from MR's government there were very unneccesary things doen by the ministers. So first thing you should guid SF to correct all those things.

    Abolishing of Executive Powers

    Monday, 11 January 2010 12:02 PM

    Beware!

His former Lordship the former Chief Justice, the learned Sarath Silva was instrumental in introducing the "Oldest Profession" to our legislature. Thanks to his dubious unconstitutional judgement we have today "Whores on Parade" parading the corridors of the legislature selling themselves for anything and everything. His former Lordship is no "Prophet of Democracy".

.In the post 1948 history of the island, the most abused and mistreated in SL are the young persons and the Tamils, is an absolute truth. They were never secure under any government of SL.

About 60 years ago, it was a joy and a privilege for a Sinhalese to meet a Tamil and for a Tamil to meet a Sinhalese. They showed respect, love, care and compasiion. But how did the Sinhalese become toxic to the Tamils?

The "Buddhist" priests and the Sinhala politicos, deliberately misinterpreted the simple idea of peaceful co-existence and separate development of North East(NE) as outright and dangerous separation.

With the intent to abuse the good concept of Federalism to death, they started a campaign of anti-Tamilism; an angry Sinhala attitude that rose against anything that Tamils were and Tamils had.

This shows his partiliaty in mind .... A chief justice should have not taken politics or favour a candidate ..... The only profession in the world where we can not take them to court on negiligence . In India now all the judges should declare their properties and welath

    Monday, 11 January 2010 11:11 AM

Hon. Sir, Why not you be the PM, the country needs your type of good practising buddists to be the governers of the nation.

    Monday, 11 January 2010 09:19 AM

PM is a support role but not an executive PM
    More fun to come

    Monday, 11 January 2010 10:32 AM

God,,,, What is going to happen to SL????
A retired Army person is trying to be the president...A retired CJ trying to be the PM. A retired party leader (even though he is not retired he is supposed to be retired; after loosing so many elections) tries to win the next general election…….

    Monday, 11 January 2010 10:32 AM

What? Is this man flawless? He talks like a saint. People remember him well.

    Monday, 11 January 2010 10:19 AM

He may become Chief Justice again?

    Monday, 11 January 2010 10:16 AM

what right does the judiciary have to set the price of goods? Why doesn't the supreme court write the budget !

    Monday, 11 January 2010 10:14 AM

Fabrications by PM to create stir in SF camp.

    Monday, 11 January 2010 10:12 AM

SF's camp is going to mess up the legislature in the Country. How can Sarath N Silva be the preiminister? without the sanction of the people.

    Monday, 11 January 2010 09:58 AM

You have rights to come to politics. But you have to think twice.
    But professional need for politics.

    Monday, 11 January 2010 09:55 AM

    Power Hungry ....
Why all these people want to rule us...
SF said he never come to Politics
S n S said he will never come ...they all saying something and doing somethig who is cheating who?

    Monday, 11 January 2010 09:51 AM

Cheers, Mr. Sarath De Silva. Sri Lanka needs leaders like you.

    Monday, 11 January 2010 09:46 AM

What do you mean by support role?
Advisor or washing dirty linen for Fonseka?
UNP + JVP jointly tried to impeach Sarath Nanda Silva for in parliament for his misconduct during public life.
It was president Kumaranatunge who used her powers outside parliament to save this person.
I think it would be better for country for Sarathnanda Silva to keep away from trying to support others. No thank please!
Sarath Fonseka too will get into trouble if he gets the support of this person.

    Monday, 11 January 2010 09:32 AM

OH my GOD. You have now proved all world that all of your verdicts are politicaly motivated. You can contest next election

    Monday, 11 January 2010 09:25 AM

If the former Chief Justice had these aspirations when he was in office, his decisions may have been biased and should be suspect. I am thinking of the LMS/JKH affair and the refusal of bail to Ceylinco Chairman.
