We just completed a 3 day tour of Jaffna and what a joke this man telling, it will take atleast another 20 years to settle these people and it also may be at their cost and nothing from him??

    RajasH Tuesday, 29 June 2010 06:59 AM

Whats is the definition of resettlement. Doesnt it means reuniting the family, giving their homes back, giving an normal environment where kids can go to school (including 6yr olds) , men can go to work and earn living, Just taking them out of barbed wire camps and putting them in an open camps is not resettlement.

    SUMINA Tuesday, 29 June 2010 07:08 AM

IF THIS IS SOMETHING THAT CAN BE DONE IN TWO MONTHS, WHAT WERE THEY ( THE GOVERNMENT) DOING ALL THIS TIME ? LETS HOPE IT WILL NOT BE A CASE OF 'FALLING FROM THE FRYING PAN TO THE FIRE' FOR THE POOR IDPS.

    Wasantha Tuesday, 29 June 2010 11:50 AM

As far as I know you are not the President.

    MagodisThuma Tuesday, 29 June 2010 07:38 AM

Mohamed Shafraz Tuesday, 29 June 2010 07:41 AM

What do you mean by resettling? just shifting refugee camps to their own soil?

    Saradial Tuesday, 29 June 2010 07:43 AM

You mean LG election in two months.

Ruwan Ferdinandez Tuesday, 29 June 2010 07:49 AM

There were 300000 in camps by the end of the war and the government has re-settled almost 250000 during the last year. That is about 700 persons per day on average. If they maintain that rate, it will take another 60 days to re-settle the remaining 50000. So there is nothing to cry foul bout, the minister is saying nothing new but what has actually been happenning.

    Mushi Tuesday, 29 June 2010 12:20 PM

Pls consider muslims' resettlement too. we know that they are sidelined by you and Milroy Fernando who held meeting in batticaloa without muslims participation.muslims were also affected by war

    nanda Tuesday, 29 June 2010 06:41 AM

One has to take into consideration that karuna's months are atleast 100days long and not 30 or 31 days as we are used to.
