But in Sri Lanka the Gods seem to protect and favour the thieves and wrongdoers.

    Deepal Monday, 30 August 2010 03:37 PM

What do you think our politicians do?

    Thomas Monday, 30 August 2010 02:50 PM

Same with most of our politicians

    Babanis Monday, 30 August 2010 02:27 PM

Totally agreed. This is the root cause of the problem in Sri Lanka. One reason for Singapore to develop so fast was honesty by the leaders of the country.

    Hane Monday, 30 August 2010 01:48 PM

They should have wait in the temple before our politicians finished the offerings.

Calistus Jayatilleke Monday, 30 August 2010 01:04 PM

Cant blame them. They are just following the top politicians who do all the dirty deeds, take bribes and commissions and then go to temples, churches, kovils and mosques to bribe the Gods in turn.

    IND Monday, 30 August 2010 12:27 PM

Lack of vision is due to uneducation.

    Bambuwa Monday, 30 August 2010 12:20 PM

God has given them the necessary punishment.

    Riyazi-Dorking Monday, 30 August 2010 12:20 PM

Now they have pray for their lives in police station !

Shivanka David Monday, 30 August 2010 12:03 PM

God's Punishment handing over them to the police, which god will protect the thives, or else they hould have prayed to the devil to protect them.

    paul Monday, 30 August 2010 11:35 AM

at least they have faith ...lol

    Geronimo Monday, 30 August 2010 10:55 AM

Did the youths ask for protection from the law or did they beseech the Gods to forgive them for the crime they were about to commit? The Gods do not appear to have done either. There is a lesson to be learned here for future emulators of these two juvenile hoods.

    Babanis Monday, 30 August 2010 08:03 AM

Is this the direction our society in moving in?

Good Lord Monday, 30 August 2010 10:03 AM

No God will protect thieves and wrong doers!!!!

    Kamiss Monday, 30 August 2010 10:01 AM

The sad part is they asked for 'protection' before comitting the crime. Would have been better if they had asked for pardon for the sin.

    Bakamoona Monday, 30 August 2010 10:00 AM

Not protection, may be to get blessings !

mata nikang hithuna Monday, 30 August 2010 09:27 AM

Simply following the footsteps of our leaders who steal and goes to temple.

    DireStaits Monday, 30 August 2010 09:20 AM

Our politicians are doing just that and are even blessed by the holymen/high priests before they go rob the country dry. Obviously the youth are following in the footsteps.

    citizen1 Monday, 30 August 2010 08:56 AM

Every corner you turn, there is a lunatic these days.

    suwimal Monday, 30 August 2010 08:50 AM

You can not prevent them becoming ministers one day. In old days, politicians became thieves. Nowadays, thieves become politicians. So their main profession, thievery, takes prority over secondary profession, politics.

Calistus Jayathileke Monday, 30 August 2010 08:48 AM

People are jobless , hopeless and helpless, Lack of clear vision for the future.

Gayan Samarasekara Monday, 30 August 2010 08:25 AM

Please don't appoint them as ministers.

    malkanthi Monday, 30 August 2010 08:23 AM

There is no proper spiritual guidance for the youth today, and this is the responsilibity of the priests, who are also sadly lost without proper base in their preaching.

    shanka Monday, 30 August 2010 08:18 AM

May be, they would learn in Sunday Schoool...
