The Keselwatte Police were denied an order to prevent the scheduled protest to be held urging the government to free former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka a short while ago.

Colombo Fort Magistrate Rashmi Singappuli had stated that the protesters have a right to protest and no order would be granted against that right. However the police were given the power to take action if a situation arises which disrupts peace and normalcy. (Farook Thajudeen)

The "discovery" of Grenades in the court premises was a well planned prelude to get the protests banned. The ordinary people are smarter now to see through such cheap tactics by those who are tasked with law enforcement but carrying out politicians' dirty work instead.
