Pillay to make field visits to N/E

United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay, who will make an official visit to Sri Lanka from August 25 to 31, on the invitation extended by the Sri Lankan Government, will undertake field visits to the North and East of the country, her spokesperson Rupert Colville said.

Issuing a statement Colville stated, “Pillay is scheduled to call on President Mahinda Rajapaksa, and meet government ministers and officials. She will hold talks with senior judicial figures, members of the National Human Rights Commission and the committee monitoring the National Plan of Action on the recommendations of the Lessons Learnt Reconciliation Commission. She will also meet representatives of civil society and undertake field visits to the north and east of the country.”

At the end of her visit, on Saturday 31 August, the High Commissioner is due to hold a news conference in Colombo, she added.

Nobody can solve our problems, we have to make a honest endeavour to sort out our own problems. 30 years of war and much damage has happened to this country, but still the present leader is behaving in the same manner as SWRD and JR did, not agreeing to understand that the Jaffna Tamils are a indengenous population of this country.

Though a request had been made to Ms Pillai to hold an international inquiry in connection with regard to disappearance of more than 500,000 people from Old Yougoslavia she has failed to respond to this request to-date. The reason being the US along with NETO and Eric Solhiem are the principal culprits on this issue. Also, what is going on in Egypt today? Approx. 2000 people were killed! Ms Pillai, what have you got to say on these Human Rights issues?

Mrs Pillia is a salaried employee of UN , she does not feel the pain and misery of a racist country , who are scared of their culture being wiped out in the near future either by the Chinese or Muslims, the Chinese have been allowed in the country to counter the Muslim takeover , because China is one country which will not accept Islam. I praise the chinese people in Sri Lanka to continue eating Pork and develop the Pork meat business in SL.
