No need for special security for Upul: Police

25 August 2014 07:36 am - 13     - {{hitsCtrl.values.hits}}

There was no need for special personal security for President of Bar Association Upul Jayasuriya, as there was no threat on the life of Jayasuriya according to investigations, Law and Order Ministry Secretary Nanda Mallawarachchi had informed the Police Chief N.K. Ilangakoon.

Western Province Senior DIG Anura Senanayake informed this to the Colombo Chief Magistrate Court today and said that he would undertake the security of Jayasuriya completely.

The Magistrate said DIG Senanayake’s assurance was satisfying and that court would rely on the assurance.

The Magistrate ordered the Police to further investigate into the complaint and to forward reports on October 20. (Lakmal Sooriyagoda)

    True police threat to protect the rulers. Police know every thing. We have a strong police contingency.

    Nagananda Monday, 25 August 2014 08:46 AM

    Good thinking. This should equally apply to all the politicos who are provided with convoy of security vehicles and guards at public expense. None of these people have any security concerns and the way these people use the road forcing the other road users to give right of way is sickening sight.

    If Police officers are there with him then it is difficult to say he shoot himself via DM Android App
